peter_t Posted November 25, 2006 Share #1 Posted November 25, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) One of the prime reasons for my considering the M8 is for unobtrusive ‘street photography’. While I have read a number of posts regarding the potential bright red reflection at certain angles, I have not seen a full analysis of what I now consider to be the main deciding factor on whether or not to buy into the M8 system. I would appreciate ‘user’ comment on: 1) Will the use of Leica or other brand lens hoods ‘totally’ eliminate this effect on all or some lenses, if so, which lenses. 2) A table of best suited lenses hoods for each lens. 3) If shooting without a lens hood (eg quick lens change situations) are there any other solutions to eliminating the bright red reflection of an IR filter. For example, do profiles (Jamie etc) have the potential to totally eliminate the necessity for an IR filter. Any other ideas that will allow the M8 to be used in 'street photography' without the subject being alerted by bright red flashes?
