neves43 Posted October 15, 2009 Share #1 Posted October 15, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) -Its a M 8.2 with a 35 cron,with a filter E 39 UV/IR picture,and its not the first time it happens (the octogonal shape on the bottom of the picture).Any advise,sugestions to avoid this (yes i know the M 9,ok...ok...but i am still paying this one).TKS in advance. ho_co Posted October 15, 2009 Share #2 Posted October 15, 2009 As Nicole said in your other post on the topic, be sure to use a lens hood all the time to keep stray light off the lens. That's an image of the diaphragm, caused by light that wasn't supposed to be in the picture. When you're in a situation that is flare-prone, you might try removing the filter, since it adds two reflective surfaces that are more exposed than the front element. Since no hood is completely efficient, remember the possibility of shading the lens with your hand or a hat or the shadow of a tree or an assistant.
