david@blumenfeld.com Posted October 15, 2009 Share #1 Posted October 15, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Is there a way to get a lens shade on the D-Lux 4? Im looking to cut down on the glare and light streaks when shooting video at night -- Its cool for a bit, but I'm thinking a lens shade would help...Any suggestions? integrale Posted October 15, 2009 Share #2 Posted October 15, 2009 Pandabase or Panasonic adaptors are readily available. I've got a Pandabase; it came with a lens shade (and various filters of questionable quality) from this eBay seller: For Leica D-LUX4 LUX 4 D4 - UV Adapter Hood 52mm 10622 - eBay (item 130335451551 end time Nov-04-09 23:12:13 PST)
david@blumenfeld.com Posted October 15, 2009 Author Share #3 Posted October 15, 2009 Thanks. Does it vinette at all at 24mm?
bill Posted October 15, 2009 Share #4 Posted October 15, 2009 No. Think about how the lens zooms - fully extended at 24mm, fully retracted at 60mm - ideal. Regards, Bill
turner Posted October 15, 2009 Share #5 Posted October 15, 2009 I used my hat this past summer. The horror of it all. I know this does not seem as elegant as a fixed lens shade but it works! The sun was so bright in Greece and Israel I did not worry myself over using one hand, when needed, to hold my D-Lux 4. What a great machine!
