Guest guy_mancuso Posted November 25, 2006 Share #21 Posted November 25, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Chuck we need to get Raw Developer to make a profile for the IR filter or make one ourselves . Issue is no one C1 and Raw Developer made a profile for it and did not know of the IR issue. Once we get that we are in business . But we can get this a little closer. i need to get you a filter down there Chuck to work on this a little. Just waiting on 4 55mm filters from Germany. That has what I have been fighting Jack , sky is to cyan and yellow skin. Completely agree. If i drop the yellow than the cyan gets worse, I'm in a no win situation . Reason for a profile

Brian Griffith Posted November 25, 2006 Share #22 Posted November 25, 2006 Chuck we need to get Raw Developer to make a profile for the IR filter or make one ourselves . Reason for a profile As soon as someone gets me a good color target image shot with an IR filter and the M8, I plan to do some work on creating a profile for this combination. Chuck has sent me a color target from the M8, but haven't yet received any color target images shot with an IR filter at this point. The current RAW Developer profile for the M8 is basically modeled after the color rendering of the C1 default, but as many have noted this probably isn't a great profile even without an IR filter. I was sort of waiting on the official Leica announcements before putting too much effort into profiling the M8. For those that are interested in using 3rd party profiles that are targeted at C1 like those from Jamie Roberts with RAW Developer I've made some camera tone curves available which should give a tonal rendering close to the C1 curve options for the M8 when used with these alternate profiles. A zipped folder containing these curves can be downloaded here: http://www.iridientdigital.com/downloads/RAWDeveloper_LeicaM8_Curves.zip Brian Griffith Iridient Digital
Guest guy_mancuso Posted November 25, 2006 Share #23 Posted November 25, 2006 Thanks Brian, I would shoot a target for you but I only have a 24 patch card and I believe you need the 64 patch cards. If I can help in any way . Let me know
Guest guy_mancuso Posted November 26, 2006 Share #24 Posted November 26, 2006 I think I nailed it down a little better Ist one out of C1 WB only 2nd Lowered the Kelvin about 1000 degrees and a little twaek on the magenta and it looks a lot better Still not exactly there yet but a lot closer. This is with the IR cut filter and the 75 cron. man is this lens sharp , maybe too much for this stuff. This shows how far off C1 really is. I need to try Raw Developer also. I like that program from what i have seen , just need some time on it Welcome, dear visitor!
