Advertisement Posted November 25, 2006 Posted November 25, 2006 Hi johnkuo, Take a look here Foggy Day . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
leicamann Posted November 25, 2006 Share #2 Posted November 25, 2006 John..the shot is pleasing but somewhat static. Also I would much prefer a bit of the "grainyness" of B&W film like an Agfa APX 100 or 400..just my personal preferences. Thanks for sharing Regards, Leicamann
martinop Posted November 25, 2006 Share #3 Posted November 25, 2006 Like the atmosphere and the impact of the BW format on the scene. Also enjoy the DOF and details.

Guest lykoudos Posted November 25, 2006 Share #5 Posted November 25, 2006 Hello John, I find beautiful port admission in the fog. Everywhere there it pulls me. The atmosphere, that cry of the sea gulls, the taste of salt on the tongue, the immeasurable width of the out-hasty view to other banks. Yesterday there was a feature over the fall of the ship Pamir in the fifties. With this tragedy nearly all crew members died because of dess sense of rigid the captain. Among them many 16 to 18 year old young men. One out our neighbourhood can I still well remember. With us at home that was daily topic. My father, a captain second lieutenant, did not release the long. Greeting Wolfgang (MP grey hammertone, 2,8/28; 1,4/50; 2/90)
johnkuo Posted November 25, 2006 Author Share #6 Posted November 25, 2006 Thank you all for your comments. I went there expecting a sunny day to finish the provia in the camera. Instead I saw a heavy marine layer as I approached the area. It was quite dark and I was shooting at around 1/15sec, well below what I usually do with the R8. The original was color slide, but I find the B&W conversion works a lot better for this scene.
sunafan Posted November 26, 2006 Share #7 Posted November 26, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) John, I used to live in one of the apartments of the Portofino hotel for half a year, directly at that scene you have captured here. Thanks for bringing back a lot of memories with your photograph, excellent anyway in my eyes. Suna
