we discovered a large field of sunflowers and supposed they were not being cut down in order to leave a feeding place for birds. We watched a big flock of strange birds. But they were too restless and waitted in the trees untill wew were done with our shooting. No chance for us too catch one with our slow lenses and clumsy gear. 5D MKII with Elmarit 180 mm

there was a long strip at the roadside but I discovered they were past blossoming. Sunlight was too low to light their heads. So I used a flash being bounced against a reflector and tried imitate the sunlight. The flashlight was only at low power and only intended as a supportive light for the reflected sunlight. all with Canon 5D MKII, Elmarit R 60mm macro+Leica Apo 2x converter
