Though I don't post much, I've been around these forums since 2003, when I was living in Salamanca, Spain, and shooting with a Digilux 1. Recently, I was digging through my poorly indexed photo archive that consists of images since the late 90's taken with a wide range of cameras (Canon Powershots in the late 90's, early 2000's, Digilux 1 & 2, Leica CL [film], a variety of D-Lux's, an Epson R-D1, an M9, and M240, along with a few other cameras and iPhones). Back then, I loved the Digilux 1 for its boxy shape and it's weird, almost watercolorish, low light capabilities. It was great to carry around Spain. I learned to be a better photographer with that camera by my side as I began to start paying more attention to how I could push a camera as well as work within its particular limitations. Sometimes I wish I had chosen to capture the images in TIFF instead of jpg, but I was also worried about the space on the SD card (1 gb max). A few months after getting the Digilux 1, I picked up a beautifully used CL in a camera shop in London, which also contributed to my learning about working in a fully manual way (with my earlier cameras, I went with full auto). Anyway, one night, the fog descended upon the city and a friend and I decided to go for a walk around the old city. Of my time in Salamanca, the foggy night photos are probably my favorites. Here are a couple. Saludos, S
