Doc Henry Posted February 4, 2009 Share #1 Posted February 4, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I would like to have your experimented opinion on this picture i took last week at Paris with my new M7. I don't know why but i think that these persons a little leaning give an impression of movement on this famous place. Do you agree with me ? that's also the first time i use the Portra 400 Iso film Weather : no sun , many low clouds in the sky and very cold, time 11.00 am Thanks for looking Comments are welcome. M7 28mm f:2 asph Kodak Portra 400 no "treatment" (uncorrected) for this picture

azzo Posted February 4, 2009 Share #3 Posted February 4, 2009 Henri, Very nicely composed giving it a pleasing perspective. I also like the subtle light and colours. A nice slice of life capture and as you say, the people going along their way give it a sense of movement.
epand56 Posted February 4, 2009 Share #4 Posted February 4, 2009 Henry, I was in Paris at the same time you were and that's the same sky I had on all my pictures. It was really cold and that kind of sky do not help with photos. What amaze me in this picture is the absence of people in a place that is almost always very crowdy. The composition is very good and the man walking breaks the stillness of the place
ghulkhan Posted February 4, 2009 Share #5 Posted February 4, 2009 I think the sky adds a lot to the stillness of the picture. It really worked in your favor!
Doc Henry Posted February 4, 2009 Author Share #6 Posted February 4, 2009 Thank you Ivan, Enrico and Ghulkhan for your comments greatly appreciated. Ivan, "A nice slice of life capture and as you say, the people going along their way give it a sense of movement." yes it's just and I want to add that the Cron 28 mm give us an impression that people is "smaller" like we can see when we are very far from them Enrico, I was at the Louvre on Tuesday and it was closed. If you are at Paris last week may be you did like me : go to the Orsay museum near of the Louvre opened on Tuesday...i will post for you an other picture with no people on this place Ghulkan, You are right for the sky. Thanks for your comment

biglouis Posted February 4, 2009 Share #9 Posted February 4, 2009 Henri A very nice perspective, normally I find a slight lean irritates me but in this case it does add to the overall impact of the image. Well captured. LouisB
