grober Posted November 12, 2009 Share #3 Â Posted November 12, 2009 I handled the Leica rep's X1 extensively at the LHSA event in Seattle last month and promptly ordered a unit from an authorized Leica dealer also in attendance at the same event. Â I haven't seen any output files from the X1 on my computer, of course, but nothing I've read since ordering has caused me a moment's loss of sleep about my X1 order. This new camera is a sure winner from all perspectives IMHO. Â -g
Lewis Posted December 23, 2009 Share #4 Â Posted December 23, 2009 I thought this was the best and most honest review of this camera to date - however, people will ignore the short comings presented by this review, purely to own a Leica, that's the sad truth and bottom line....quite moronic really. NZDavid Posted December 24, 2009 Share #5 Â Posted December 24, 2009 Not really. Seems the camera has some faults, like the slow AF, which may or not be important depending how you shoot. To me, this stands out: Â "Image quality from the Leica X1 is exemplary. The quality of the sensor and the in-camera processing is as good as I've seen from just about any camera. In terms of overall IQ it puts every other small camera that I've ever worked with to shame, and challenges many DSLRs."

Even so, I am sure it will acquit itself fully when eventually delivered. More serious photographers will quickly appreciate the controls and picture quality available.
