How old are we Leica M9 users?

In 1998 Ben Dalsheim sold me my first Leica M6. He said that I was statistically to young to be a M6 owner. An M6 was an expensive camera and most users were above 50 thus affording this luxury. I don't know if he was right. He only had about 50 years experience in the Leica business.

Last year, when I bought my M9, I also bought a M6 from him. His last one. His son had already taken over the business for more than a decade, but he, still being a Leica man, was selling the last pieces of his large stock. He sold me his last Leica M6 camera. It was a 0,85 460/999 " die Letzten" in a original 0,58 box. Dalsheim now is slowly nearing the 85 and I'll hope he lives even longer in good health. I am slowly nearing my 50-ies now and feel I can become a legitimate Leica user in his eyes.

But what about the M9 users? Does anyone know how old they are. Why not start a survey?

I'll lead and soon we'll find out what our average age is. ( or does anyone knows this already )

My age, when I bought the M9 was 45.

There is already a survey running with regards to forum members' ages.

I doubt whether M9 owners are any different from typical forum users.

Please post any comments in that thread to keep things consistent.
