trs Posted August 25, 2008 Share #1 Posted August 25, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Is there anyway to give the repro to Leica to fix this problem? Today is about 4th time that happened to me. But, I can never know when it happens or what causes it. This morning, I was ready to clean the sensor for the trip tomorrow. I changed the battery, blow the chamber, turn on the camera and select clean sensor. I select appropriate options. Press the shutter, nothing happens. Turn off and on, camera still on. Of course, I take out battery, put it back and everything is cool. I am starting worry that someday this is going to cost me money to get it fixed. I have not seen any info in the forum about Leica having the fix for it or knowing what the problem is. Do they? Did I miss? Warranty is going to run out in couple of months. -tanka

About the only thing I do to try to prevent it is turn on the camera, wait a few seconds, hit Menu, select clean Sensor, wait a few seconds, hit the right arrow button to highlight YES, wait a few seconds, hit the SET button, wait a few seconds (2) and hit the shutter release and HOPE. I haven't had it happen to me lately using somthing like this technique. I'm usually a very fast person when it comes to buttons and menu options. Working with the M8 has made me SLOW DOWN a little. trs Posted August 25, 2008 Author Share #3 Posted August 25, 2008 Thanks Shootist. I had not known the potential workaround. I will try to slow down a little now on. I definitely did not slow down this morning.
