SJP Posted February 17, 2009 Share #1 Posted February 17, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Inspired by some of Sander's pictures here is my first attempt. Considering the non-ideal situation (centre of The Hague, stray light from our neighbours houses etc.) I am quite pleased nevertheless. Note the distinct red hues of Aldebaran and Betelgeuse, as red-giants should. This is the practice run for next week when I will be in Finland & hope to catch the northern lights (without freezing my .... off). Any tips & tricks are welcome, presumably I should use the selftimer or a release-cable? This was not focussed just turned the dial all the way - is that OK or should I focus the rangefinder on a star or a similarly distant object? BIG version is here: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3652/3280720497_81c95300d7_o.jpg M8 summicron 28/2 ASPH 4sec ISO1250 tripod
