Advertisement Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 Hi flohma, Take a look here Lens spots: photo. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Tenor1 Posted August 16, 2009 Share #2 Posted August 16, 2009 Welcome to the Forum Flohma, My DL4 does not have spots like that. It might be dust on the inside and may not show up on the picture. I'd call the store and let them know.
cstevens Posted August 16, 2009 Share #3 Posted August 16, 2009 Definitely reject that, looks like the coating or like Tenor said internal.

ho_co Posted August 16, 2009 Share #5 Posted August 16, 2009 Try a microfiber lens cleaning cloth. Since the lens hasn't a protective hood, it's prone to catching raindrops and the drool of enthusiasts. Highly unlikely that it's a coating problem. I agree - sometimes a dried-up deposit from a water splash can give an impression of the coating missing. A microfibre cloth may well sort it. jimbo035 Posted August 16, 2009 Share #7 Posted August 16, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) but make sure the microfibre cloth you buy is one intended for camera lenses, as I beleive others are "anti-static" &/or impregnated with a chemical. One of those will add to your problems. Look for one sold at a camera shop, not an Optician/Optometrist - to be on the safe side.
flohma Posted August 17, 2009 Author Share #8 Posted August 17, 2009 Thank you all for your comments. I applied a fibre cloth and that seems to have solved most of my problem (apart from a few tiny specs)...
