PS: it's not a Photoshop exercise, it's a dead sensor
Advertisement Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 Hi integrale, Take a look here Oh no!. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
lesh Posted July 3, 2009 Share #2 Posted July 3, 2009 That's bad luck and tough to be minus a camera in high summer. The good news is that the sensor fix is free and comes with a general health check into the bargain - at least it was for my Panny LC1.
mark_a_h Posted July 4, 2009 Share #3 Posted July 4, 2009 that's probably the coolest looking sensor-fail image I've seen. very Warholesque.
integrale Posted July 4, 2009 Author Share #4 Posted July 4, 2009 that's probably the coolest looking sensor-fail image I've seen. very Warholesque. You're right - should I keep it as is? maybe not >lesh: that's a relief, at least. Luckily, I have a D-Lux 4 as well (and a set of binoculars), so I'm not completely Leicaless. integrale Posted August 18, 2009 Author Share #5 Posted August 18, 2009 I have just send the following mail to Leica's Customer Support: Dear Sirs This is to confirm the safe return of my Digilux 2 after service (incl. sensor replacement). The camera now operates notably smoother and, of course, the sensor is now fully functioning again. Thank you very much for an efficient, well operating and smooth service delivery. The attitude and service displayed by Customer Support throughout the entire process has been absolutely brilliant, and I sincerely respect Leica Camera's decision to continue to honour warranty for the sensor on consumer electronics now several years old. I will not hesitate to recommend a Leica product in the future and I'm happy to belong to the Leica community. Thank you Leica! A copy of this e-mail will be posted on the Leica forum (l-camera-forum.com).
