lcausr Posted January 2, 2009 Author Share #3 Posted January 2, 2009 Thanks for that link, so any flash that works with the Panasonic FZ50 works with the V-lux ? Thanks again.
elansprint72 Posted January 2, 2009 Share #4 Posted January 2, 2009 Thanks for that link, so any flash that works with the Panasonic FZ50 works with the V-lux ? Thanks again. Yes. I have an Olympus FS-FL50 (which is the FL500 shown above). Olympus build the guns for Panasonic, at the time I bought, the Oly prices were far lower. bjmike Posted January 3, 2009 Share #5 Posted January 3, 2009 I'm using an Olympus FL-36 (not the FL-36R, which is pricey in comparison). It works TTL on my V-Lux 1 as well as on all my Olympus DSLR cameras.
lcausr Posted January 3, 2009 Author Share #6 Posted January 3, 2009 Thanks for your suggestions, I find the Olympus FL50 great, but not in the reach of my budget. So far I'm really interested in the FL 36 and the Metz 48 AF-1 (which according to their site is compatible with the lux 1).
elansprint72 Posted January 3, 2009 Share #7 Posted January 3, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I should have said that the FL50 is really powerful; I use it in a Velodrome and it nearly burns the paint off the bikes.
lcausr Posted January 3, 2009 Author Share #8 Posted January 3, 2009 I should have said that the FL50 is really powerful; The price and the GN reflects that I'm really interested to buy the Metz Mecablitz 48 AF-1, any1 had an experience with it ? Thanks
USA road racer Posted January 6, 2009 Share #9 Posted January 6, 2009 I myself am looking into the Metz line of flashes. If you purchase the right one, it can work on ANY camera with the proper adaptor. After finding out that my old Nikon SB26 wont work even on a Nikon Digital camers I thought what a waste of money! I can use some of my old Nikon lenses on a new Nikon digital but not all. So I bought a Leica and said good bye to film the German way... Metz is the way to go for me. lcausr Posted January 8, 2009 Author Share #10 Posted January 8, 2009 Hmm, thanks "USA Road Racer" I'll probably buy the Metz over the internet this week =)
USA road racer Posted January 9, 2009 Share #11 Posted January 9, 2009 I should have told you that I'm looking at the Metz SCA 54 flash. It needs the SCA 3202 shoe adapter to make it compatible with the V-Lux and D-Lux 4 cameras. I just got off the phone with Leica Tech support and both those 2 cameras need the same SCA shoe adapter. But, if you have film cameras or an M8 Leica, all you need to do is to change the shoes to make it work. Neat stuff eh?
