hammam Posted November 9, 2008 Share #4 Posted November 9, 2008 Yes, nice, but this knob is huge and ugly. Sorry.
miami91 Posted November 9, 2008 Share #5 Posted November 9, 2008 Yes, nice, but this knob is huge and ugly. Sorry. Agreed. A bit too much protruding metal for my taste. Jeff.
rycm Posted November 9, 2008 Share #6 Posted November 9, 2008 I think I would prefer a belt case, and wrist strap. The camera is so light that hanging it around the neck is an overkill.

Jeff. i agree here partly but if you want to fit a tripod you need some sturdy part. i don't think luigi has yet a solution for his case to hold a tripod ? Actually, he does. Someone on DP Review has been in communication with him regarding case design for the D-Lux 4, and he's committed to designing a slightly smaller version of his screw which affixes the case to the tripod thread, and provides a replacement tripod thread in the middle of the screw. And nicely, the screw is recessed into the thick leather bottom of the case, so it does not protrude. I have these screws on my M cases, and they work quite well. Jeff. RIDE Posted November 9, 2008 Share #12 Posted November 9, 2008 I'm the one who posted about the Luigi case in dpreview...also put up that post here (just a few threads down). I am getting the optional tripod screw with my case...50 Euro upgrade charge. Luigi has to specially make some new screws that are smaller to fit the bottom of the D-LUX 4 case. And yes...they are totally recessed and quite clean looking. RIDE
