petermcwerner Posted April 7, 2007 Share #1 Posted April 7, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) 70 years after it was made, the first fast "portrait" lens made by Leitz is still capable of good results, but flare is high, as can be seen in the backlit trees. It seems less objectionable in B/W. Conrast is lower than in modern lenses, but can easily be increased in post-processing. Advertisement Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 Hi petermcwerner, Take a look here First fast "portrait" lens of of 1938, Hektor 1.8/73mm as good as Summilux?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
rosuna Posted April 7, 2007 Share #2 Posted April 7, 2007 Do you have the Summilux 75mm?
petermcwerner Posted April 7, 2007 Author Share #3 Posted April 7, 2007 Do you have the Summilux 75mm? I don't. I would think the Summilx is sharper, more contrasty and less subject to flare, but the Hektor has a signature of its own that makes it quite unique where a softer look is desirable.
