This is literally a shooting bag! Filson is know for their specialty in game hunting equipment that is durable and fashionable (at least to me ) Â Â This is their Field Bag in a small size. And I find it perfect for an M camera + 2 lenses. Usually I have the 50 Summarit mounted, and carry the 24 Lux and 90 Cron with me. I also like to bring a small Moleskin to jot down random tidbits and that fits perfectly in the side pocket along with a couple of pens. dickgrafixstop Posted January 8, 2011 Share #2 Â Posted January 8, 2011 you can find excellent answers when you're not even asking the question. the filsons are nearly indestructible and the field bag is great for a small kit. Add a domke wrap for protection and you have a hard to beat solution. The shotgun shell bags are also a good answer, and bags by Babour (I like the tarras to compete with billingham) and Orvis are also excellent answers. Fotobug Posted February 8, 2011 Share #5 Â Posted February 8, 2011 Eddie, I second that motion. I have the Medium size of this field bag (Model 232), and I've found the size to be very reasonable. I've only just yet put my R8 in it (with 28-70mm on), as far as my Leica kit goes. But I have put a: scarf, Kodak DCS SLR/n (with 28-200mm), Metz Mecablitz 60 CT-1 monster flash, and Metz dryfit battery-pack (with shoulder strap) in the main compartment. I placed pens, small Rhodia notebook, peppermints, 2 batteries, and a pair of gloves in the 2 pockets covered by the front flap. Weighed a lot; but for anyone who did not know me, they would have no idea that I was carrying camera equipment. Â I'm pretty sure I could fit my R8 and M3, with a couple of lenses, white/grey balance target, Sekonic meter and lots of film without too much difficulty. I might suggest the large square camera wraps, or padded bag inserts (such as from Domke), or if you have a belt system like Kinesis you could use some of those accessory bags. Â I like the fact that Filson's Otter Green is neither beige nor black. It is a pleasing color. And it won't show up dusty or dark marks or scuffs so easily. Â If you get a Filson bag, try to get one that does not have the "X" over the Filson label. Filson does this to prevent the item being returned. Usually because this was a "second' or otherwise flawed item from the factory and they don't want any "hey, somethings wrong" stories. Â I have the old school model that has the bridel leather, a less expensive model uses nylon webbing.
