50 Lux ASPH arrived after 4 months!

After 4 long months of waiting, my new 50 Lux ASPH finally arrived from ffordes.

 

I paid up front in early November to join the queue and was told that I should have a lens before Christmas or worst case... early in the new year. It seems that the ffordes usually get one lens per month but between late December and the beginning of March they didn't receive any and were at the mercy of Leica. For those of your thinking of ordering be prepared for a long wait!

 

I've only taken a few test shots with it so far but it really does seem like a wonderful lens and the build quality is incredible. I think it's going to be spending a lot of time on my M9 :-)

I got on the list on Dec 15th, but were told that there were none to be had, put an order in the Leica store too... nothing.

 

I did manage to get one on Dec 23rd, shipped from Germany. The DPD driver almost delivered to the wrong address (post code missing a number, SE1 instead of SE16), I told them I would pick it up in the depot.

 

You can imagine how I felt... now I just an M9.
