If you saw the film Gladiator then you saw this scene sweep in and out through the film....the end in particular. It's located in the Val d'Orcia of Tuscany. That farm back there is not the one featured in the film (that was attacked).....that is located a few miles west of here near San Quirico d'Orcia, and you can see it from here if you know where to look. The farm in the background is owned by friends of mine....local Tuscans and as it is an agriturismo, I've stayed a few times. Or I just stop in, surprise them and have a buon caffe. Mont Amiata in the background.

The 28 Elmarit ASPH is my workhorse lens on my workhorse Safari M-P. I was doing 3 trips to Italia a year for awhile, and many times I only brought that kit- 1 body and 1 lens, to keep my on flight weight down, and because I could just shoot nearly anything I wanted to.

When I shot auto rally mille miglia, or car, cycling races, I'd bring a Canon or Fuji with big zoom too. But I always prefer to shoot my Leica Ms.
