jlindstrom Posted May 11, 2012 Share #4 Posted May 11, 2012 (edited) I'd say wait and see. No need to be negative. The changes might be subtle, but the proof will be in the budding. 1) Leica has promised faster AF - number 1 complaint in X1 2) new sensor has more dynamic range and more resolution 3) new sensor could have even better high iso 4) new sensor, new electronics. could change a whole lot of things: better jpeg? faster operation? better nr algorithms? There is just a whole lot of things that could have changed for better. And I don't think callkng it X1.2 would have done sales any good. It's may not be revolution, but certainly evolution. I don't think they really aimed at getting X1 owners to upgrade, but gain new customers. The product cycle might very well remind us of the M -series. First M8 for years, the upgrade for a year to M8.2 and then M9. Now M9-p has been around for a year and we got M-M and possibly will get M10 at photokina.. though I think it'll take another year and photokina will get the mirrorless. Anyway, X3 will be bigger leap when ever it comes out. And of course there's a chance X2 is stop-gap until mirrorless is out.. Addendum: I don't subscribe to Reid reviews, so all of what I've said might have been already been proven wrong :-) --Juha Edited May 11, 2012 by jlindstrom
