jlancasterd Posted November 20, 2009 Share #1 Posted November 20, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm considering the purchase of a CV Nokton 50mm f1.1 to go with my M9 but would like confirmation that the quality of the images is worth the price (£1,100 in UK at the moment). What does the bokeh look like? Are there any problems with focus shift?
Advertisement Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 Hi jlancasterd, Take a look here M9 & Nokton 50mm f1.1 - Photo samples?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
johnbuckley Posted November 20, 2009 Share #2 Posted November 20, 2009 Hi John - I have a number of Nokton shots with an M9 here: Zenfolio | John Buckley | Nokton 50 1.1 (M9) vs. Noctilux 50 1.0 (M8) There are also some comparisons with my old Noctilux with an M8. There was a thread on this earlier, and SteveM has published his review of the Nokton. We all come to the same conclusion: nice lens, nice Bokeh, great price, not a Noctilux, but you could buy a Nokton, and with the money left over from not having bought the Noctilux, fly around the world or something. tategoi Posted January 14, 2010 Share #7 Posted January 14, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) The M9 could not automatically detect the Nokton. In the lens setting, what do you set it to?

JB The bokeh of this lens is unpleasant, in particular in the low light shot shown on your pages.

carbonadam Posted January 22, 2010 Share #11 Posted January 22, 2010 Just got back my 50mm Summicron from a friend I lent it to. I was finally able to compare it on my M9 quickly to the Nokton 50mm 1.1. The Nokton is slightly wider by just a bit. Not enough to be a big deal. The thing I found so wild was that the summicron can get so much closer to the subject (about 2 feet) with it's minimum focal distance than the Nokton which is about 3 feet. Anyone know why this is? I'm just curious.
Bo_Lorentzen Posted January 22, 2010 Share #12 Posted January 22, 2010 Don't know what your benchmark is, but its a pretty darn nice lens. I got one and love mine. BoPhoto.com: Voigtlander 50mm 1.1 - ITS HERE...! .
