Boll Posted October 12, 2010 Share #1 Posted October 12, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi guys, My question is: Is that a way to fit a retangular hood (12526) in a Summicron-M 35 V2. This lens has a E39 Filter. I thinking about buying a cron 35, and this lens seems to be my best option, once I decided for a non ASPH...This one looks to be so good as the V4 but cheaper.. About the sunhood: the rectangular hood will only stay horizontal on a version IV and version V (asph) summicron. You should take a round hood on a version II summicron. The nice thing about the version II is its colour rendering - vivid colors for such an old lens (I believe it was designed with the colorfilm in mind) - very contrasty, but some find its bokeh a bit harsh. I must say that I like its bokeh in some shots but not all. Here is a picture in which you cleary can see the bokeh of the version II summicron (it has 6 elements). What I further like about the version II is that it has also a tiny tab for the f-stops, this makes it easy to change the f-stop even when a sunhood is attached. All the other versions have no tab for the f-stop ring.
