I am curious to know if there are wild variations. Here in New Zealand, I think processing is good value, but film costs more to buy. For the sake of simplicity, I have changed $NZ to $US at today's exchange rate. Location: Christchurch, New Zealand. Slide film, various sources: approx. $12 per 36 exp roll (eg, Fuji Astia 100F or Kodak E100G). Processing: My local lab (Kens Digital - Future Fresh Solutions) vows to be "the last man standing" when it comes to processing film. E6 processing, 36 exp, mounted: $11.60. andybarton Posted April 4, 2009 Share #2 Posted April 4, 2009 I pay less than $6 per roll for Astia, and would pay just over $6 for E100G Local processing, in and out in a day, costs about $15, unmounted. 18MB scans are just outrageously priced (and still only jpgs), so I would never have them done. I can make a 125MB 16bit scan at home in 5 minutes. Yesterday I bought some Delta 100 and Acros from a photographic warehouse in Manchester, and it cost me $6 per roll. from my normal supplier, it would be less than $4 Quote Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

I have been using the 5 litre Tetenal 3-bath, but have been thinking about going to a Kodak kit, as it's smaller, and more likely to be used before it expires. Yeah, same for me. Tetenal 3-bath. I make up the full stock and it keeps for enough time for me to shoot 60 rolls - which is getting worryingly shorter every month/week. What's the name of the kodak kit? It also appears to be 6-bath, which I'm sure could be more reliable, but the 3-bath kits have given me great results so far. The "single use" bit means that you use the chemicals that you have made up, then throw them away. You don't reuse them, as you might, say, stop bath for b&w film. Processing slide film mounted: CHF 12 Processing C41: CHF 4.50 I try to avoid buying slide film in Switzerland. It's just too expensive. UK suppliers don''t seem to want to ship outside EU. I think it's worthwhile for film enthusiasts to shop around. BTW, 18MB scans I mentioned are JPGs. Custom and RAW scans cost a lot more, but I have been quite happy with JPGs for most purposes. I've thought of getting a scanner but having the lab do it certainly saves time. The best price I can find for a roll of Superia 36exp is about US$9......bit of a difference to the US$1.99 from B&H. FP4 is well over US$10 a roll. Nobody seemed to want to talk to me when I tried finding some Ektar..... Oh, and colour negative processing is about US$ 21.50 for a 36. ouch... The "Melbourne Silver Mine" Flickr group regularly get together to buy film in bulk from the US or UK. In Brussels, the bulk of 30 meters is 55 € for the store more ... honest !?!? Via Lancanshire of Mathers, the bulk comes to 45 € shipping and including changes. what gives 2.36 € the roll 135-36 exp.
