I use an R8 and I've noticed that when I set the lens to f22 and use the DOF preview slider something is not right! When I let the DOF slider go the lens only goes back to 4.8 and not 4.I have to manually move it back to f4.This is no big deal merely annoying. Can anyone using this lens give some insight?

DM: Do you mean you have to push the camera slider back upwards manually the last little bit? I think it's more likely to be the camera mechanism that's sticking rather than the lens. The lens is sprung to stop down, and the diaphragm is held open by the camera against the lens' spring. Have you tried another lens on the camera, or the lens on another camera?

The slider works perfectly and other lenses are fine. It's only letting the slider go back to 'home' that it doesn't go back to f4 but to f4.8.Not great problem but annoying.

Check the diaphgram of the lenses for know if was bit stuck.

If was good then clean the contacts of ROM in the lenses and in the camera.

I whish this help to solve your problem.

Thanks.I will clean the contacts and see if it makes any difference. The mechanism of this lens is rather flimsy compared to the summicron 50,that's a solidly designed lens;the mechanism that moves the aperture back to f4 is nothing but a piece of tin!I don't want to bend the tinny piece but i will clean those contacts.

Cheers.
