Advertisement Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 Hi atwood1202, Take a look here slide/ medium format scanner. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
darkness30 Posted December 20, 2007 Share #2 Posted December 20, 2007 Hello, I didn't use but i believe you can use Nikon super cool scan 9000 for medium and 35mm formats. If you have the money go for the Imacon flexttight scanners. They are one of the best. Regards, Mehmet Ali

archi4 Posted January 5, 2008 Share #5 Posted January 5, 2008 I have the Nikon 8000 (which preceded the 9000) and the results are wonderful. The latest Nikon software is quite good, but I am now scanning my slide collection using VueScan pro in RAW dng files which can be read in Lightroom. Ideal workflow, as you don't have to perform any adjustments while scanning, only later when you want to print. I used to have a Nikon 35mm scanner and tried a flatbed for the Rollei files but the results were such that I went for the Nikon for the MF negs and slides Maurice
leicapages Posted January 8, 2008 Share #6 Posted January 8, 2008 Maurice and others, could I ask a related question. I read on the Nikon webpages that the Nikon Scan software, latest version, would not work with Windows Vista. Is this correct? If so, what are the alternatives? Thanks

leicapages Posted January 8, 2008 Share #8 Posted January 8, 2008 Steve, you got me :-) I was under the impression that Vuescan only worked on Macintosh but I stand to be corrected. Thanks!

leicapages Posted January 8, 2008 Share #10 Posted January 8, 2008 Hi Phil, I used Nikon Scan with my Super Coolscan LS-2000 for many years and have always been satisfied. What's wrong with the current version?
Leitzmac Posted January 10, 2008 Share #11 Posted January 10, 2008 Hasselblad/Imacon flextight, I used one almost every day for a couple of years (back when they were simply Imacon - before the merger with 'Blad). They are simply fantastic scanners, fast, intuitive but very costly. I have never used a Nikon scanner so can't comment on their quality, but would expect them to be sound. However for the very best image quality you can't beat a drum or 'semi-drum' scanner.
leicapages Posted January 10, 2008 Share #12 Posted January 10, 2008 yes the Hasselblad/Imacon FlexTight scanners seem to be an ideal choice were it not for their high cost, alas, which put them out of reach for a hobby photographer like me :-(
