Twilight Posted November 30, 2013 Share #1  Posted November 30, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi  I have an Epson 3880 printer and currently use Epson premium glossy paper for my color prints and Ilford gold mono silk for my B/W prints. However I would like a paper for my color prints that give my a bit of the same look as the gold mono silk does for b/w. Any advises and profiles?  Thanks  Peter
Advertisement Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Hi Twilight, Take a look here paper for color prints with gold mono silk look. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Jeff S Posted November 30, 2013 Share #2 Â Posted November 30, 2013 I haven't tried the Gold Mono, but Ilford's Prestige Gold Fibre Silk has been a mainstay color paper for me (using the 3800). Â For b/w, I now prefer Canson papers, especially Infinity Baryta Photgraphique and Platine. Â When I don't use a friend's profiling gear, I use Chromix's color valet pro service (I'm in the US) for profiles...unlimited papers for $179 for 18 months. They are experts in color management. woorob Posted November 30, 2013 Share #3 Â Posted November 30, 2013 Another vote for Canson here. I like their infinity high gloss premium RC myself.

Jeff S Posted November 30, 2013 Share #5 Â Posted November 30, 2013 Infinity Baryta Photgraphique is quite similar to Gold Fibre Silk for color. IBP has perhaps a bit whiter base, with a slightly more textured surface. Â As with any paper, overall workflow, and subject matter, is key. otto.f Posted November 30, 2013 Share #6 Â Posted November 30, 2013 Go Canson! Both color and B&W
woorob Posted November 30, 2013 Share #7 Â Posted November 30, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Yes, I now use their infinity high gloss premium RC for most of my color prints, for a really nice gloss finish. Be sure to download and use their ICC profiles if you're not using a service like Chromix to make custom profiles.

otto.f Posted December 2, 2013 Share #9  Posted December 2, 2013 I have used EPSON, ILFORD, Hahnemühle and HarmanKardon but CANSON is my first paper that delivers really right ICC-profiles, which makes all the difference in the amount of test-prints needed.
