StephenPatterson Posted July 24, 2013 Share #1 Â Posted July 24, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) The Transcend wifi card works well enough with the M240, but has what amounts to a fatal flaw IMHO. It's easy enough to set up, and you can set your iPad or mobile phone to display the last taken image. You can also browse the card from your device and download images. What you cannot do is shoot away for dozens or hundreds of frames and have them automatically download to the device. What a PITA. Â I think the Transcend card is fine for checking a lens in a shop quickly, or checking an image in the studio before shooting a lot of frames, but for reviewing street photography or travel photography where you're shooting for a couple of hours it's almost pointless. I wanted to be able to sit down at lunch and review my morning shots on my iPad, but honestly it's faster for me just to download them than mess with doing it one at a time with this thing. Â I give it 1.5 stars and wish I had bought the Eye-Fi card... Â PS A friend has sent a message saying I can get images to download from the Transcend card if I use a program called ShutterSnitch. There's another $20 on this project...will report back on the results.

Karl G Posted July 24, 2013 Share #2 Â Posted July 24, 2013 At the current time the limitations in the system are the transfer speeds of wifi of large files. About two or three times a year, I will use this in workflow that involves shooting smallish jpegs that wirelessly transfer and then are uploaded to a server and available in very short order for web use and prints for theatre show promotion. JeTexas Posted July 26, 2013 Share #3 Â Posted July 26, 2013 My NEX-6 has built-in wifi, and it can give you live view on an iPhone or iPad, but it's very laggy and there's a delay from when you press the remote button to when the camera takes the photo. Â When working in that mode, you can record photos straight to the device, but only at low resolution. If you want full resolution photos copied to the iPad you have to end the remote program and go into the transfer program. Â Wifi just isn't fast enough to copy over huge files yet.
