Advertisement Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 Hi pinetar, Take a look here I need the "nodal point" on a D-lux 2. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ho_co Posted July 18, 2006 Share #2 Posted July 18, 2006 I can't answer the question. You might end up needing to speak with the lens designer if possible. You should probably also specify both focal length and which nodal point (front or rear) since I suppose the two move with varying zoom. The nodal points would also move a very small amount depending on the focus point, but I'm sure you could neglect that. For simplicity you might just choose the front plane of the body, assuming that it is near the rear nodal point, and call it done. With luck there's someone on the forum who'll be so upset by this non-answer that he'll jump in with what you need. Good luck! --HC
ddh Posted July 18, 2006 Share #3 Posted July 18, 2006 Gary, there are numerous websites that explain in detail how to determine the nodal point of a given lens. (Just google nodal point lens) For example this one: http://www.vrphotography.com/data/pages/techtutorials/technotes/nodalptalign-tn.html Hope this helps. john_f Posted July 18, 2006 Share #4 Posted July 18, 2006 Daniel, Very good web site! Gary, I don't know where the nodal points of the DC-Vario-Summicron 7-22.5mm zoom lens might be located, but I think I know who might be able to help you: Andrew Nemeth of http://www.nemeng.com/. Andrew is an avid Leica enthusiast (like all of us) and is a member of this Leica forum. And he does quite a lot of (extraordinary!) QuickTime VR. If anyone can help you, it's him. Good luck! John F.
