BH is always out of stock and I can not find them in any local store. Are these things that hard to find? Just picked up my M7 last week and wanted to stock up and buy 20 batteries but I cant even find one. Thanks for any help or suggestions. Advertisement Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 Hi stevem7, Take a look here M7 batteries. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
marknorton Posted July 4, 2006 Share #2 Posted July 4, 2006 The type you need is DL1/3N; they should be readily available online, Duracell make them, a couple of suppliers I use in the UK are showing them in stock. For example: http://rswww.com/cgi-bin/bv/rswww/searchBrowseAction.do?obs=sObs&name=SiteStandard&No=0&N=0&Ntk=I18NAll&Ntt=DL1%2F3N&Nty=1&D=DL1%2F3N&callingPage=/jsp/homePage/homePage.jsp&BV_SessionID=@@@@0429990007.1152045488@@@@&BV_EngineID=cccdaddiemjhdkgcefeceefdffhdfin.0&cacheID=uknetscape&Nr=avl:uk

ron110n Posted July 4, 2006 Share #4 Posted July 4, 2006 Hi Steve, 4 Duracell 76S at your local Sav-on, Rite-Aide or Walgrens. It's easier to mount than the original 2 pc. Don't forget to turn your M7 off when no in use. -Ron
stevem7 Posted July 4, 2006 Author Share #5 Posted July 4, 2006 Thanks. I didnt know you could use 76S. I can get those locally. Thanks for the info! Steve
lambroving Posted July 4, 2006 Share #6 Posted July 4, 2006 The 1/3 N are more reliable in an M7 which is the reason Leica Camera prefer to use them. They are available in the photo section of many large drug stores in the U.S.
fotohuis Posted July 5, 2006 Share #7 Posted July 5, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Indeed CR 1/3N (Varta/Duracell) are more reliable but indeed 4X AG13/76S is also possible but slightly less capacity. AG13 you can find very easily, specially in Europe. Prices can be less than Eur. 3,00 for 4XAG13 till over Eur. 10,00 for one CR 1/3N, but sometimes you can also find this lithium battery for Eur. 4,50. christer Posted July 5, 2006 Share #8 Posted July 5, 2006 You want to buy 20 batteries? OK the lithium will have a sell by date of 2010 or later, but still? 20? I bought ten batteries (the bigger version) when I got my two M7s just after they came out. I still have six of the batteries. One set was changed as late as last month. And I often forget to turn the camera off. Do not buy too many. I bought so many beause on mail order they are about one third of the price you pay in some shops. wparsonsgisnet Posted July 5, 2006 Share #9 Posted July 5, 2006 I keep batteries on hand -- and keep them in the fridge. Is this the behavior others are following? (The film is in the freezer.) tnx, Bill
nyrich Posted July 5, 2006 Share #10 Posted July 5, 2006 Bill, I usually keep a half dozen 1/3N batteries on hand. They are used in my Leicas and Nikons so they never get a chance to go "stale". With moderate usage they seem to last well over a year in most of my bodies. Does refrigeration really matter with lithiums? I've never tried it. I store my main film supply in the freezer compartment. A smaller supply is routinely moved to the refrigerator compartment from where I draw my shooting stock. gvaliquette Posted July 5, 2006 Share #11 Posted July 5, 2006 You can also find the CR 1/3N at RadioShack
stevem7 Posted July 5, 2006 Author Share #12 Posted July 5, 2006 Radio Shack does have them, thanks! I thought the batteries only lasted a short time in an M7 so I was thinking I would stock up. If they can last a year, then Ill only buy 4-6. Thanks again. Steve
leicacr Posted July 6, 2006 Share #13 Posted July 6, 2006 Another good source is Ace Hardware. I have bought Duracell 1/3 in at least a half dozen Ace's.
stevem7 Posted July 7, 2006 Author Share #14 Posted July 7, 2006 Thanks, I also have an Ace local. Bought some from Radio Shak and Adorama. Im all set now for a while. Thanks for all the tips! Steve
leicar7 Posted July 7, 2006 Share #15 Posted July 7, 2006 I bought mine using the Gillette internet site (Gillette owns Duracell) directly. I, too, had trouble finding these batteries where I had been buying for my R cameras. I'm glad to see the other suggestions, but I got tired of traipsing around.
