colorflow Posted May 4, 2009 Share #1 Posted May 4, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just acquired a non-ROM 2x APO extender and discovered I cannot mount the 35-70 f4 ROM on it. I thought this combo should be ok. Am I wrong? Thanks, Alan

psquared Posted May 4, 2009 Share #2 Posted May 4, 2009 There shouldn't be a problem mounting the extender on the 35-70/4. The Leica website says that the 2X APO ROM is compatible with this lens, and there shouldn't be any difference between the 2X APO non-ROM and 2X APO ROM other than the obvious lack of ROM. Are you mounting the extender on the camera first and then mounting the lens? If you're not using a Leica camera, you may need to hold back the automatic diaphram control lever on the extender when you mount it on the lens. You are right, must mount extender on the camera first. Thanks Alan
