Teddyp Posted March 3, 2009 Share #1 Posted March 3, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) My chio finally went bad and I had to send my Digilux 2 in to N.J for the repair. They were very quick in returning my camera, but their is one problem, the flash does not work. The dealer said that the setting is probably set to off and we just need to set it back to auto, but he did not know how to set it. He said to look in the book when we got it home and he was sure they did not do anything to damage the flash. I am sure he is correct but the problem is I can not find my manual. We are remodeling and my wife has everything in boxes. Can anyone tell me how to reset the flash? Even when I rase it manually it does not flash. If I am understanding you correctly, turn the camera on (with memory card insterted)... put the function switch into picture taking mode, open the flash. Using the same finger used to depress the shutter button, you'll see a small button just behind and to the right... it's marked with the little Flash Lightening symbol. Push that button.... on the LCD screen or in the Viewfinder, you'll see three icons indicating Flash, Flash with Red Eye and Flash Off, use the scroll wheel on the back of the camera to select. That should do it. You can also check the flash power by pushing the EV button twice while the flash is open. All the best, JT
Teddyp Posted March 4, 2009 Author Share #3 Posted March 4, 2009 Thanks JT. I got it working, now if I can remember where I put the manual.
wda Posted March 6, 2009 Share #4 Posted March 6, 2009 Even when I rase it manually it does not flash. I am glad you have got it working. I would just add that you always need to raise the flash manually; I don't think it rises automatically according to light demand.
