atournas Posted February 22, 2009 Share #1 Posted February 22, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, The frame "preselector" lever on my M6 Classic has stuck and shows only the 28/90 frame lines, irrespective of the lens I attach. I wonder if that has happened because I had used a 21/2.8 ASPH for a few weeks before I switched to the current lens (35/2 ASPH). Any advice? In particular, is it easy to do some sort of repair myself? As far as I know, the mechanism for the selection of a frame line is rather simple. Thanks Paul

Thanks Paul Paul, I don't think it is the 'lever' that is stuck. Probably the frame selector mechanism and linkage are stuck. Does anything happen when you pull the lever to the right - away from the lens mount? Try to move the selector's internal linkage by using a small screwdriver, tweezers or needle. You will find the linkage at the 3 o'clock position (when looking at the front of the camera), right under the bayonet mount. If that does not budge the frames, than most probably the actual frame lines in the finder are stuck - this would be a slightly more complex repair. Good luck, Jan
