There's a oldish Telyt R 560mm f6.8 around the market at the moment. 3-cam version, but not sure of the age.

Looks like it could be a lot of fun, provided one doesn't use it near an airport or the Houses of Parliament, or similar. :o

Any experiences, good or bad? I would be using it on the bird sanctuary, if it were mine.

I've been using this lens for a couple of decades. It's big, relatively light weight, the focus is very quick, and image quality in the central 2/3 of the image area is quite good: detail, contrast, color saturation and bokeh leave little to be desired. It has some field curvature and the minimum focus is bettered by newer internal focus designs (which weigh considerably more than the f/6.8 Telyt). I've taken this lens on long hikes with no regrets, typically using it with the shoulder stock & monopod.

They look pretty nice from this end as well, whish all mine would look like that.

I never used the 560 6.8 but I got the older 560 5.6 bit heavier then the 6.8 and the focus is slightly different and it can produce some nice images as well. I got the 400 head for it to. The 560 is best with a monopod or tripod but the 400 can be hand held.
