i'm having a hard time deciding which model extension tube to get with the 60mm Macro... i noticed there was two models... #14262 and #14198... i know that the 14262 is compatible with other lenses where as the 14198 is ONLY compatible with the 60mm, but is there any other difference i should know about? build quality, performance, etc?

any help would be greatly appreciated... thanks...

The 14262 is for the 100mm f/4 Macro. Are you thinking of the 14256 Macro-Adapter-R?

What camera body are you using? What lenses other than the 60 Macro?

yes... i meant to say 14198 & 14256 Macro-Adapter-R... haha.. my mistake... i will be using it on my leica R6.2 and also on my 5d mkII...

other R lenses that i'll consider using the 14256 with will be 35 summicron, 90 elmarit, and 135 elmarit...

through some research i saw that the 14198 has a built in aperture and the build quality looks more durable... but does the versitilty of the 14256 out weigh the other?

thanks for your response! this is my first post on this forum...

The 35mm lens will probably not be as useful with the extension tube as the other lenses but since you're not using a Leicaflex and assuming your lenses are all 3-cam, 3rd cam or ROM I'd recommend the 14256 over the 14198. The 14256 will work fine with the 90 and 135 as well as the 60 Macro. It's build quality is fine and it will be much more versatile for you.
