jimbo035 Posted February 5, 2010 Share #1 Posted February 5, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Considering one of these for my Leicaflex. Frankly, its polycarbonate barrel appeals as a welcome weight-saving factor considering an SL + 21/4 Super Angulon + 35-70 Vario Elmar adds up to 1600g. If the French lens weighs less than the 450g Vario Elmar (and is totally compatible with an SL) I'll buy one. Anyone out there concurring ? Advertisement Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 Hi jimbo035, Take a look here Angenieux 35-70/2.5-3.3 for a Leicaflex SL, OK ?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Ivar B Posted February 8, 2010 Share #2 Posted February 8, 2010 I actually owned such a lens a long time ago, and I liked it a lot. I used it on various R models. I cannot recall if this lens was supplied with R contacts only or if it indeed was a 3-cam lens so it could be used on Leicaflex models. If you find a lens for sale you should check that it is indeed 3-cam.
jimbo035 Posted February 8, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted February 8, 2010 Leica Shop (in Vienna) have one in stock, and told me it weighs 615g. Does this imply that the 66gram lighter German version of the 35-70/3.5 Vario-Elmar might have some polycarbonate too ? Or (more likely I suppose) the Angenieux lens has more glass in it.
