daleeman Posted November 16, 2009 Share #1 Posted November 16, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) There appears to be contacts on the side of the flash that may indicate one might use external power for the SF 58 flash. Does anyone one if they are and what to use. The manual does not go deep into it. Is it AC power only, or is there (hopefully) an external 3rd party battery. dpattinson Posted November 17, 2009 Share #3 Posted November 17, 2009 On the M9 forum there is a thread called "Power pack options for M8/M9". Go there. The old man from the Age of Flashpowder Lars, That thread is about a vapourware battery grip for M8/M9, nothing to do with the flash. The manual for the SF58 does indicate that one of the ports on the side of the flash is for an external power supply. This thread says there is a Metz battery that fits: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/leica-m8-forum/96217-does-sf-58-work-quantum-battery.html#post1008542 Picture of the power pack: Welcome, dear visitor!
