jimbo035 Posted October 24, 2009 Share #1 Posted October 24, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Before buiying a Leicaflex SL I was not aware that I was about to enter the world of Series Filters for the first time .... and now that I am seriously considering selling a D-Lux 4 to partly "fund" the purchase of a 21mm/f4 Angulon, must first discover whether a filter described as VIII/lX (viz 8/9) could accurately be described in "modern parlance" as an 8.5 If a deal goes ahead and the Leicaflex's third lens is going to be an Angulon, I need to be sure I'm looking for the right filters, hoping that a UVa and a Yellow-Orange won't be too hard to find. tobey bilek Posted October 29, 2009 Share #3 Posted October 29, 2009 The 21 4.0 will take 72mm or 77 mm filters. The lens shade is made to receive ser 8.5 in the slot. My lens is not available right now, but if you take it to a camera shop, they can fit it with a threaded filter. B+W will make ser 8.5 on special order. They charged me no more than what a similar sized screw filter would have cost. Ser 8 such as the 35 Curtagon shift is same as 60 mm. This one i am positive of. The ser 8 will fit in the lens shade Ser 6 goes in the shade of a few lenses. You can substitute a 39 mm, but you may need to reverse it, ie threads out.
