  1. The Lighthouse, Red Cliffs photo and this one below, were all taken at a place called Nash Point, Glamorganshire, South Wales. Appologies for my mistake in posting these on the SL2 site - it wasnt intentional, I've just bought an SL2 this week and will post future photos to this site. These were taken late last year when I had the SL1, and when we could go places like this to photograph. Whilst 2021 may not return us to 2019's normality, here's hoping it will get us closer to it. I have certainly learned to appreciate the good things we sometime took for granted, much better going forward. Large Pebbles on the Beach SL1 + SL 16-35

    SL2-S

Does anyone know if the promised new algorithms that improve autofocus and allow image overlays will equally apply to the SL2 as well?
  6. Hello All, For the last few years I been using a Leica branded (Made in Germany) Carbon Tripod and a small-ish ArcaSwiss Ballhead and its served me fine when it's use was infrequent and mainly Leica M based. However, now that my full-time Camera and Lenses are the SL Zooms and Primes, and find I'm using a tripod much more often and would feel more secure with something a bit sturdier than I have at present - I'm looking for any reccomendations. Can anybody help, please? Kid regards
  7. Yes, MeToo. My SL is about a year old and over that time a few small specs of dust have appeared behind the viewfinder, which at first I assumed were on the outside of the glass. Recenetly a larger "blob" has appeared which (like you) I presumed was on the sensor, but after a bit of experimentation I now see it's behind the viewfinder. I contacted Leica UK, and they tell me, mush asthey'd like to, it would have to go back to Wetzler for repair. As the SL and it's Lenses are my only equipment (£££), I wasnt that keen, as it would mean being without any camera for (I guess) 6-13 weeks. They didnt have a loan SL at the time, but I'm now on a waiting list for one??
  8. Many thanks Scott - I decided to go for a competitively priced v.slightly used 16-35 from Leica Mayfair (London). I don't have a SL Lens at present as I had to send my SL 75 back to Leica last week as the manual focus ring wasn't smooth and was making scrunching noises/sticking at certain points! I tried the zoom out, and looking at the test photos I took, they were v sharp all over the frame, and had surprisingly v.little distortion at the edges, strangely on camera the zoom feels a lot smaller than the 24-90 I used to have, and fits/balances on the SL really well. Perhaps I should have been more patient, but the 16-35 will cover my Landscape/City needs, open-up new ways of looking at things for me and will cover my future need for a 21mm SL Lens (when available). My only concern is the relatively small 4.5 aperture 35mm having been used to a 28 or 35mm lens at f 2.0 or better for the last 5 years? I'm v. comfortable/happy with the SL 75 for people shots either formal or street. Looking forward to using and trying to get the best out of the new lens.
  9. Many thanks for all your kind replies. However, jplombley and WelshB hit the nail on the head in regards to the way that Leica treats its customers...we are people who've invested reasonable amounts of money in their systems. Why launch a product when you have such micro amounts of stock, and no more likely for a relatively long period of time? Why not communicate with your customers to give them an update if you have a problem in hoped for roll-out of stock...Leica and ourselves are partners (they make, we buy)? When neither the Leica Stores or Leica PR can't/won't communicate with us to advise why there are delays and how long they will last, it appears that they don't respect the very people who keep them in business! Sorry, I'm cheesed-off, as this is not the first time this has happened. Back to considering the 16-35 SL Lens or Sigma/Panasonic.
