  1. 28/90 framelines are less disturbing than 50/75 TBH but there is no risk of VF blockage any more since the EVF sees through the lens. Flare and focus shift are less of a problem, too, for the same reason. Superb lenses like Tri-Elmar 16-18-21/4 (aka WATE) and Apo-Telyt 135/3.4 will be given a new lease of life hopefully.
  2. According to the Leica site, the WATE is not discontinued sorry.
  3. +1 but for what AF lenses? SL's would be too big. Sigma or rebadged Sigma?
  4. Chairs and apples in Normandy Leica MEV1 + Summicron 50/2 v4
  5. Yes the same applies for both MEV1 and M11 in LV mode as well.
  6. An interesting feature of the MEV1 is Leica Perspective Control (LPC) which works with the M11 in LV mode as well. The camera draws digital framelines (also referred to as "crop lines" by some colleagues here) in the EVF to allow for composition inside the lines and viewing outside of them if needed. 1st pic below shows the uncorrected view outside the framelines, 2nd pic the corrected view inside of them. MEV1, Summicron 50/2 v4, LPC
  7. Unsure if wear and tear is covered by the Leica warranty but those adhesive strips are stuck to prevent reflections and are a good thing from this viewpoint. I bought my 75/2 apo and 90/4 macro several years ago and the strips don't show any sign of wear so far. I would ask Leica if it is a concern though.
  8. Aquila non capit muscas.
  9. I am speechless so πŸ™ŠπŸ™‰πŸ™ˆ
  10. You seem to confuse facts with disputable interpretation. I'm not alone to call frameline a frameline. It is not a word reserved to rangefinders but used in the EVF world as well. You will see it employed about RED cameras, for instance, or the Leica Q3, also ARRI or Sigma cameras, and of course the Leica MEV1. Anyway, let's agree to differ on this frameline thing, the earth won't stop turning for that.
  11. It is the moment that counts. When i take my photo, i compose inside framelines, be they mechanical, electronic or otherwise. The rest is just cooking and i'm no cook either. But we discussed this already if i remember well. Sounds like we'll have to agree to disagree again πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
  12. Who said the opposite? In both cases i'm composing inside framelines, be they analog or digital, and it can be interesting, or not, to see outside those framelines, be they analog or digital.
  13. Bit of confusion here it seems. There are not only analog framelines in modern M cameras. There are electronic framelines too, like those of 1.3x or 1.8x digital zoom or perspective control as well. These allow one to see outside the framelines if needed. Which has little to do with whatever EVF limitation.
  14. Kolari vision makes mods for Nikon Z cameras apparently. I don't know if the ZR variant needs the same or a similar mod but it cannot do autozoom with M and MTM lenses anyway. Seems like M11 and MEV1 bodies have no competition from Nikon or elsewhere with such lenses. My Sigma FPL gives good results with them but it cannot read the 6-bit code and cannot do autozoom either.
  15. How about M and MTM lenses? Last time i checked, Nikon sensors had too thick a sensor stack to avoid soft corners and/or smearing on WA and UWA lenses. If this ZR camera is like my Sony a7r2 mod, it needs a Kolari mod and cannot do autozoom with M lenses, but i have no experience with this Nikon body admittedly.
