I'm afraid not. The EF 100-400 L II is great for that sort of shooting - on a 5DIV

With my old eyes, I find the 135 a challenge with my M240 rangefinder but a dream with the SL.

Who uses a 100mm lens for purely for macro?

As I read it, it is a brand new camera from a Leica dealer so it would be the old sensor, would have the manufacturers warranty and the sensor replacement guarantee would begin at the date of purchase.

Likely but not certain. The sensor 'warranty' is for 5 years after purchase I believe. I guess if you are purchasing from a Leica dealer that will still stand. Worth checking if it already has the problem. Brand new in the box I'd check the battery is still in good shape before buying too.

The EF 100mm L Macro is hopeless.

A tricky situation. Could just as easily have been a crook trying to get you out of your car so they could mug you/steal the car....

Is there a third party battery charger for SL batteries? The Leica branded charger is rather expensive to purchase as a backup unit.
