  1. Peter Walnes website is still active with his name at the top. He has listed as expected soon a Leica M240 and a Zeiss 35mm f2 for Leica M amongst other items. So it look’s he is definitely still in business and still under his own name.
  2. I have been onto Red Dot cameras and the think it is a card problem. I have changed the card, so we will see what happens.
  3. It is a brand new SD card which has worked ok in another camera. I have had other Leica M cameras but never this message.
  4. Hi I am wondering if I have a fault with my M-P 240. Intermittently it has come up with card full flashing in the viewfinder, I changed the card and it was fine. I am using a 32gb SD card by SanDisk. I reinserted the original card in the camera which I had formatted in the camera and carried on shooting. Today I came to use the camera, took a photo which was fine, came to take another photo moments later the camera appeared dead, nothing working except for this message “ File not found please insert memory card with correct firmware file” I took out the battery and memory card, reinserted both and the camera came to life I continued to take photos for the rest of the afternoon with no further messages or lock up’s. Now does this appear to be a fault with the camera or memory card? The camera is still under second hand warranty with Red Dot Cameras.
  5. Just to inform if anyone has had recent dealings with Peter Walnes camera dealer in Cornwall, Peter filed for bankruptcy on the 14th March 2023. His website is still available to see.
  6. Just to make sure I recharged a third battery to 100% and put it in the Monochrom last night at 11pm, I looked at 8pm tonight and it had dropped to 95%. So I think it is conclusive the fault lays in the camera.
  7. That battery that came with the Monochrom is in my Leica M10 which on Monday was charged to 100% and still showing 100% today Wednesday even after taking a few photos. The battery that was in the M10 is in the Monochrom and today dropped to 60%. The Monochrom is going back to the camera shop.
  8. Further information, I looked at the camera and it still reads 80%. I will keep a eye on it. My other M10 still shows 100%.
  9. This morning 1.5 days after putting a 100% charged battery in the Leica M10 Monochrom it is now at 80% charged. The battery which was in the M10 Monochrom I removed yesterday at 80% charged, charged it up to 100% put it into my older M10, 17 hours later it still shows 100% charged. To me this indicates a fault with the Monochrom camera. I have spoken with the camera shop I bought it from, who say it is the battery but when I told them it was put into another camera and worked fine they wasn’t sure what to say. I have got to get back to them later with what I find after further testing. Perhaps the previous owner had this problem and that is why the camera was sold with 2 extra batteries.
  10. Thank you for your reply’s. Update this morning I put a older M10 battery 100% charged yesterday afternoon in the Leica M10 Monochrom, just now I have looked (11.15am) it is reading 90% charged, 8 am it was 95% charged. Yesterday I put the battery previously used in the M10 Monochrom which was at 80% charged after taking a few photos, into my M10, just looked and it was still 80% charged. I will do further testing.
  11. I have recently bought a used Leica M10 Monochrom camera from a camera shop. It seems every time I pick up the camera to use the battery is dead. So yesterday I put a 100% charged battery in the camera, this morning I came to it and it had dropped 10% overnight. No it was not left switched on. My older M10 has never had a problem like this. As anyone else had the same issues? Or is it back to the camera shop? I am going to try a different battery to see if that makes any difference.
  12. Hi my M10D is serial number 55012xx bought used from Park Cameras January 2021
