The "_any Eyes" was great! :-) (I have a 'rare edition") Thx for leading this It will be tough call, R/DMR or M8/M9 but as Doug Herr shows, LOTS of life in the DMR and 400/6.8 Victor

mjmartin Posted October 19, 2009 Share #222 Posted October 19, 2009 Dear Andreas, This sounds like a wonder way to have fun with our Leicas, show others what they can do and help those in need of help all at once. I would like to participate. Mike
LMBSGV Posted October 19, 2009 Share #223 Posted October 19, 2009 (edited) A great idea which most of us here would like to participate in, obviously (even those of us who don't post particularly often). SJP Posted October 19, 2009 Share #224 Posted October 19, 2009 This is going to be a very BIG book (or we print the pics very small), alternatively we could have a random book generator that uses a random selection of images out of the BIG database. Then each book will be a unique collectors item:D
stunsworth Posted October 19, 2009 Share #225 Posted October 19, 2009 This is going to be a very BIG book... The intention is that a group of editors will select the best images for publication. What I expect will happen is that the editors will get to see the images without knowing who had taken them. They will then choose their top images - let's say 20 for the sake of argument. The editors' selections will then be analysed, and the most popular - let's say 100 - will be selected for publication. I'm sure Bill will correct me if I've misunderstood the overall concept of how it's going to work.

Aldo, we haven't started yet, so no, it's not too late <grin>. Bill's been out of the country, so I expect there'll be a "This is what happens next" message from him soon. Dr. No Posted October 21, 2009 Share #230 Posted October 21, 2009 Right. Dr No. (Olaf) you have suggested a "historical" section. I do like this idea, but don't want to open the floodgates for model-specific chapters or sub-headings - again, this is about showcasing talent, not equipment. However, I do have a soft spot for the Barnacks so I shall consider this further... Bill Bill, you'r right about not to open the floodgates. But maybe an introduction or appendix about the (technical) development of the Leica from Leica I to M9 might be interesting. I would be aboard . Just think about it. Cheers OLAF

JHAG Posted October 27, 2009 Share #234 Posted October 27, 2009 Bill, Already replied to your PM. To make the buzz roll around this book, it could be very useful to set up a page on Facebook. Yours, Johan
