Good evening everyone; At least it's evening here in Copenhagen. Hope you're all doing well and shot some wonderfull photos.

As always and as the title indicates I'm once again in doubt of which photo to choose from my latest session; The guy portraited is an artist / illustrator; His large glasses is an important piece of his persona.

The shots with blackstriped background was shot against a softbox with gaffa as the stripes; The other 3 against a white curtain way underexposed with purpose.

All M8, 35 or 50 mm Summicron F2 @ approx 500. No postadjustment besides minimum black adjustment and added grain.

All feedback is highly appreciated as always...

#4 for me, too.

In #1 he looks rather uncomfortable. #2 is better but the face is not visible very well. In #3 the shirt is more prominent than the person. #5 looks a bit bland in comparison to #4.

I particularly like in #4:

  • the scrutinizing or observant gaze
  • the background stripes seen through the left glass (showing that it's a lens and not just a window pane)
  • the concentration on the face

Aren't there any pictures showing his hands?
