Advertisement Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Hi mobeyone, Take a look here Minilux Zoom... I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
martinis Posted September 21, 2009 Share #2 Â Posted September 21, 2009 The shutter can pack up on them ,test fire it at various zoom seetings and if you get a message in the lcd window leave well alone .Takes great photos though as a point and shoot ,although it had to at the price it cost .Also consider the contax from the same time . simon8202 Posted September 21, 2009 Share #3 Â Posted September 21, 2009 The standard minilux has a better lens, the results from that really are like those from a Leica 'M' lens. I use mine a lot having gone back from an M8 to film. Using the camera is like using any other point and shoot but the results are/can be amazing. I did try the zoom version but I didn't think the lens was in the same league. The previous poster is right that there is a known history of fatal electrical failures with these cameras. I've been lucky so far and if mine did go phut I'd buy another tomorrow! Are you the same mobeyone from beoworld bytheway?! Â Simon

mobeyone Posted September 21, 2009 Author Share #5 Â Posted September 21, 2009 Hmm.. food for thought.. Â There is also the CM but finding one is proving difficult. Â Simon - yes! this is my other obsession.. same as you it would seem! Awesome photo. I want to try film alongside digital but need the right camera to start with... which is proving difficult. I have a olympus is5000 slr which was given to me as a present many moons ago but never liked the feel... hence the search for a usable film camera. simon8202 Posted September 21, 2009 Share #6  Posted September 21, 2009 well Ffordes have a Cm for £349 which is an excellent price-it won't be there long! I'd still go for the minilux, especially if you can get one with a year's guarantee. The CM isn't repairable if it goes wrong which is crazy but apparently true. Since I've gone back to film I've used the Minilux the most and I've found a place that develops and scans for less than four pounds so you get the best of both digital and film worlds! Have fun whichever you choose!  Here's a snap of Haworth churchyard taken a few weeks ago with the Minilux - the print looks better than it does on the screen! simon8202 Posted September 22, 2009 Share #8 Â Posted September 22, 2009 Sorry about that. If you fancy borrowing a minilux to try it out just ask. As long as you pay postage both ways!

dicko101 Posted September 25, 2009 Share #10 Â Posted September 25, 2009 The used part of the Leica Store in Vienna had a CM in the window. It looked decidedly delicious. They also had a Minilux non-zoom.
