Superior footbridge...

Superior has three footbridges across the normally dry Queen Creek and I decided it was time to finally start exploring them. One side of the bridges leads to Main Street and the other side leads to an area a local referred to as "the hood" (i.e., a less nice part of town). I've photographed quite a bit in this area and have never found the people there to be anything less than polite and friendly, unlike my experience in the north part of town last week...

Thanks, all, for the kind words! O. Winston Link's photography has long been one of my inspirations (well before I started photographing at night, in fact) and for that reason, I find it surprising to hear people compare my work favorably to his ... wow. :-)

I think it is the clarity you get in shots like the one above- just look at those planks. Could be from an 8 x 10 negative. :)

That's an interesting comment, as it just so happens my other camera is an 8x10 Toyo (although I shoot only color with it, cost be damned!). But you're correct that capturing thost sorts of small details is a primary focus of my photography ... take care of the small details and the big picture will take care of itself! :rolleyes:
