Took a few shots with this combination, here is one :

Street Photography in Paris Blog Archive Leica M9 Launch today, sample picture

It was wide open so no shift. But anyways, mine is back at the dealer for a check-up. I found that the center part of my M8 images were significantly less sharp than the sides at infinity with it ! Probably something wrong in it ...

Oh geez sorry, I must've read the 35 lux review around the same time as I read the M9 review and they blended in my head!

It should be less noticeable than the M8 at the same size print, but it's a result of the lens, not the sensor so I'd say at 100% the backfocus on the M9 will be identical.

No research concerning focus shift, only some shots with this wonderful combination.

Solo bikers in Amsterdam, all ISO 400.

From my very brief test with the M9 I had no problems with my 35 'Lux Asph. In fact I'm pretty sure I'll use it as my main lens once I can get my hands on a couple of M9s.

I didn't shoot a ruler or anything, but all of the 50+ images I made with the M9 were with the 35 Lux Asph, and not one was soft. It was beautiful at F/1.4 but the images were also sharp at F/2 through F/5.6. Didn't stop down much past that due to low light, but by F/8 there is a lot of DOF anyway.

Although having said all this my copy of the lens performs well on my M8 bodies too. I would imagine if your lens focus shifts on an M8 you'll get similar results on the M9. The only difference is that, at a given print size, you'll be enlarging less. So perhaps your results will be better.

If your lens shifts focus badly, I would send it back to Leica for adjustment.

Based on comments elsewhere, it has been stated the silver 35-lux' tends to have less focus shift than the black version. Which one do you have, and was your lens sent to Leica for adjustment?
