Be patient, guys... It's amazing how something I'm very excited about did not get picked up by the forum detectives... Of course, I don't know if this is the other thing the tweet this morning was referring to...

I just saw that Ronald has put up a teaser for the R10 in the digital forum ... but hey, Twitter isn't anything "made in Germany", John Mayer got dumped for a (good) reason.

Longshots.........apart from the obvious R10 / R digital solution that is:):

New M Lens -- a replacement for the MATE Tri-Elmar (or, shock horror, a Leica zoom)

S2 Lens -- Vario 30-90 (available at launch or before the New Year)

Quote from BJP: The British Journal of Photography understands that Leica will unveil a “consumer focused digital SLR”.

Didn’t Leica executives say a couple of months ago that there would be a way to keep using the R lenses? This would be it.

A consumer focused digital SLR without autfocus? That's not consumer focused IMO.

Actually, a consumer DLSR with auto-focus lenses is as unliky as the thought that the M8 would continue as the low-cost entry-level M-camera of Leica.

To get return on investment for a consumer level DSLR you need to get a relative large market share, and in this area competition is hard and margins are low. Not Leicas cup of tea.
