jamriman Posted August 31, 2009 Share #41 Posted August 31, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) If it's still in the M tradition (RD-1 even more so) I'll be very interested. If the M dimentions are too far off and the M8 is closer to a film M, I think I'll stick with my M8. Should be interesting either way though. Advertisement Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Hi jamriman, Take a look here September 9th Draws Near.... I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
gwelland Posted August 31, 2009 Share #42 Posted August 31, 2009 I was looking at some of my framed prints shot with the M8 yesterday and thinking "these are really good, I love what I see." The M8 has been the most satisfying camera I have ever owned regardless of its limitations. I couldn't agree more. I enjoy using my Nikons and relish the excellent image quality they help me obtain but the Leicas have been the most satisfying to use at many levels. KM-25 Posted August 31, 2009 Share #43 Posted August 31, 2009 I have to say I am very curious and somewhat excited to see what 9/9/9 brings, even though I won't be in the market for any Leica digital cameras until at least two years from now. I'm sure by Summer of 2011, things will look very different then, hopefully I won't be broke from my project, LOL!

marknorton Posted August 31, 2009 Share #50 Posted August 31, 2009 I just wish they'd just get on with it. This forum is like a wound-up spring... Reminds me of the bill-board advertising campaign in France a few years ago: Day 1, picture of a gorgeous looking woman, "tomorrow, I'm taking off my top" Day 2, picture of same woman, topless, "tomorrow, I'm taking off the rest" Day 3, picture of same women, naked, turned around, "XXXX, l'afflicheur who keeps its promises!". luigi bertolotti Posted August 31, 2009 Share #51 Posted August 31, 2009 Ok, so it's a hint that we should expect something from Leica today? Strange Maybe they are simply saying they ARE on Twitter an want people know it... the pingpoing and selfreferencing on the Net are normal biz... andybarton Posted August 31, 2009 Share #52 Posted August 31, 2009 Leica use Twitter about once a fortnight. No formal announcements will be made via that route of course, but little snippets to stop people falling asleep at the wheel..

sdai Posted August 31, 2009 Share #55 Posted August 31, 2009 I think it's the "official global launch" of the S2, the first stop of its North American (or global) road show is scheduled in Toronto on 11/09. I've registered myself for the event, not sure if I can make it or they'll have a camera to let everyone to play with though. You guys looking at the M9 probably will get disappointed ... hope not. wattsy Posted August 31, 2009 Share #56 Posted August 31, 2009 You guys looking at the M9 probably will get disappointed I doubt it. The M9 is pretty much Leica's worst kept secret and I'm not sure why so many are still sceptical about it being available next month.
stunsworth Posted August 31, 2009 Share #57 Posted August 31, 2009 There's an English language version of that film here... Live Webcast on 9/9/2009 - The next Generation of Leica Cameras on Vimeo
Steve Ash Posted August 31, 2009 Share #58 Posted August 31, 2009 I agree with sdai. For me it sounds like the M9 could be a bubble that blasts on 9/9/9 for the time being. Regards Steve
adli Posted August 31, 2009 Share #59 Posted August 31, 2009 Now it's on the english website: Leica Camera AG - Home Pay attention to the time: 09:00 NYC 14:00 London 15:00 Berlin

My dealer was actually not in Canada, when I asked him about the M9, he told me Leica will launch a special edition MP set exclusively for China market instead ... Gold.
