dfarkas Posted March 11, 2014 Share #24  Posted March 11, 2014 would anyone be so nice to show some photos that make it possible to evaluate the bokeh of this lens? Is it possible to make nice portraits with it?  Maybe not your traditional portrait, but here is a shot from our recent workshop to Monument Valley.  Leica S with 30-90mm @ 90mm, f/5.6, ISO 200. xiaubauu2009 Posted April 7, 2014 Share #26 Â Posted April 7, 2014 Just traded my 30mm CS for the Vario Elmar I like the versatility it provides and the size of the lens is smaller than the 30mm at 30mm side. Next couple of days I'll have the opportunity to have a look and mount it on my S2. Â You're still without regret? Â Regards lik
Likaleica Posted December 16, 2014 Share #28 Â Posted December 16, 2014 I did the same thing and am very happy I did. In addition to the increased versatility I find I have a higher percentage of sharp pictures with the Vario.
lik Posted December 21, 2014 Share #29 Â Posted December 21, 2014 I could try it out today. Fantastic lens! Autofocus very easily and quickly - even at the "old" S2! It will be my next lens... Best wishes, merry christmas and nice holidays! lik

RVB Posted December 25, 2014 Share #32  Posted December 25, 2014 I'm considering doing the same thing. Next couple of days I'll have the opportunity to have a look and mount it on my S2.  You're still without regret?  Regards lik  I own this lens and the primes. Its nice to have the zoom coverage but you will give up speed and edge performance for the convenience,I prefer the primes.. Primes offer Bokeh too while the VE is too slow, especially at the tele end..  Generally mine seems to perform better from 30-55 and after that its starting to soften at the edges..  Rob
zaolaotou Posted March 17, 2015 Share #33 Â Posted March 17, 2015 Hope that the upcoming S007, with its higher ISO capability, will make up for the relatively low speed of the 30-90. Its a fantastic lens anyway, I like it.
